We arrived in Singapore mid- afternoon after leaving Melbourne at 9.30. We wandered the streets close to our hotel The Destination in Beach Road, found a kebab for dinner and then we got a taxi to the Marina Bay Sands complex. Where we found a light show and the Skywalk gardens and overlooked the city.

I have promised myself another, longer, visit to Singapore.  There is still so much we haven't seen, whether it is the old or the new

We had a full day to find something to do on our stopover in Singapore. The plane to Frankfurt was not flying out till midnight. We caught a hop on bus midmorning and sat back as it took us through the city through the older areas and then the reclaimed area of Marina Bay Sands, with its Shopping Mall, Casino and Hotel on top of which sat a replica boat with a luxurious garden on top.
