Melk Abbey

The Melk Abbey, stood high over the River and is now being used as a University. We were not allowed to photograph inside. It was totally opulent, gaudy and outlandish.  By this stage after seeing so much wealth being displayed by the Church during the middle ages, I am angry and annoyed by the misuse of  the peasants who were taxed to the limit to build  and the upkeep of the Churches and Cathedrals.

We were allowed to take photos inside, but this library with over 300000 volumes over multiple stories blew my mind. I sneaked a couple, got rebuked, but I have the images.
