Sans Souci Castle

I was too miserable to spend the two euro to take photos inside. However, it was so grotesquely opulent, with gold dripping from the walls and ceilings, it would have made me sick.
The castle was built in the 17th century when all the peasants would have been starving and living on a wish and a prayer.
The castle was in Potsdam, which was a twenty minute ride out of Berlin, so it was a nice drive and Potsdam itself was a very pretty place, with three universities and lots of trees, a big, calm, tranquil lake nice homes and gardens.
