Salt Mines

What an amazing work of engineering, with over 2000 chambers, dating back 6000 years and hundreds of feet below ground and working in the dark, carrying bucket loads of earth or salt up and down steps with sheer drop-offs beside them. An Incredible chapel had been constructed from the salt underground, with statues and an alter being carved by the workers, also a statue of Pope John Paul 2 who was Polish and a champion of the Polish people.
